Welcome Home, Ke'Shaun!

Jul 06, 2025

Yesterday Ke'Shaun came into the Church.
Ke'Shaun works at Chick-fil-a with my son, Joseph.
Thanks to my son's zeal, several months ago, Ke'Shaun came with us to mass and asked how he could join the Church.
Why did he want to become Catholic? Because he came to believe the Church has the fullness of truth.
It was already too late for him to go through RCIA, and he is about to join the Navy, so we talked with a priest and built a timeline for Ke'Shaun to get baptized before boot camp.
Yesterday he was baptized, confirmed, and received First Communion. His confirmation name (and patron saint) is St. Michael.
It occurred to me that this is the fruit of Devotion to the Seven Sorrows of Mary, because Joseph has grown up praying the Seven Sorrows Rosary, and joined us on the road when we share our parish event, "Turning Sorrow into Joy."
This is what can happen when we promote the Seven Sorrows Rosary.
Last year we did a "Turning Sorrow into Joy" event at a parish in Lebanon, Ohio, and one of the women who attended emailed the Pastor and asked if the parish could do something special to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows.
Maybe you can do the same.
Why not email your Pastor and ask what can be done to commemorate the Feast Day on September 15th in a special way?
The seventh promise for those who promote this Devotion is:
"(They) will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness."
Hopefully that happens for Joseph.
Hopefully that happens for Ke'Shaun.
Hopefully that happens for YOU!
Please pray for Ke'Shaun as he leaves for boot camp next week!
