a Satanist walks into a doctor's office

This week I went to a Doctor’s office this morning.

One of the front desk workers was wearing a pentagram necklace. A pentagram is a five-sided star and is usually connected with the occult.

After my appointment, I asked the physician about the young woman. He knew about the pentagram and was very concerned about her. Still, due to corporate policy, he couldn't do or say anything.

He called her a “tortured soul.”

So I went back to the registration desk and spoke to her.

I told her that I was compelled to let her know that God loves her, and I offered her a copy of the book “Something You Can Count On.”

Opening the book to Chapter Four, I showed her that the book explains seven Christian responses to suffering.

She welled up in tears and thanked me. I think it made her day.

I share this story with you for two reasons:

1.) "Everybody Suffers"- and sharing the book, "Something You Can Count On," is just one way to show that Christ offers an answer to suffering. In fact, He offers at least seven answers to suffering. Meeting people where they are when they are suffering is the best way to spread the gospel.
2.) Praying the Seven Sorrows Rosary every day helps to keep you attuned to the need that everyone has for consolation.
