Feast of the Epiphany

Jan 05, 2025

Happy Feast of the Epiphany!

Thinking about the wise men who went to see Jesus always makes me think of Penn Jillette. He’s part of a duo, Penn and Teller.

Penn is an atheist, and he is not interested in Christianity at all, but he made a YouTube video one time that was very interesting.

He had met a Christian man the day before, and he could tell that that Christian man cared about him because he gave Penn a Bible.

And so this magician woke up the next morning and recorded the YouTube video while he was still in bed.

The interest this man took in Penn had really touched him, and Penn said, "If you believe that there is a heaven and hell and (our actions can determine where we will go for all eternity), how much do you have to *hate* somebody to not tell them?"

This magician is really a wise man in the sense of the magi and the wisemen. He understands that if Christianity is true, then we should tell other people.

There's a link to the short version of his video below.

This is the reason I share the Seven Sorrows. If you really believe Mary appeared in Kibeho, in Rwanda, why would you not tell people?

If you really believe in the Seven Promises of the Seven Sorrows, why would you not tell people?

Just as a reminder, here are the promises for those who honor Mary's Sorrows:

1. I will grant peace to their families.
2. They will be enlightened about the Divine Mysteries.
3. I will console them in their pains, and I will accompany them in their work.
4. I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it does not oppose the adorable will of my Divine Son or the sanctification of their souls.
5. I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the infernal enemy, and I will protect them at every instant of their lives.
6. I will visibly help them at the moment of their death—they will see the face of their mother.
7. I have obtained this grace from my Divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and dolors will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness since all their sins will be forgiven, and my Son will be their everlasting consolation and joy.

Here's the short version:
1. Peace in your family
2. Progress in Virtue
3. Perspective in Suffering
4. Providence of God
5. Spiritual Protection
6. Preparation for Death
7. And the promises of Peace Eternal

Say the Seven Sorrows Rosary every day.
But don't just pray it; share it with others!

Mary didn't come from heaven to Rwanda for us to ignore her. And someone you know might be interested in those seven promises.

Happy Feast of the Epiphany!
